Second best to Mr Hess.

Ahh yes , the most talked about and pondered question of this century. Who is the greatest Hamiltonian? This is a question of "epic proportions" noone can deny the contributions made by these hardworking individuals. A Hamiltonian inveted the Fox40 pea-less whistle for crying out loud! Where would professional sports be without the Fox 40? As well one of our very own McMaster alumni Roberta Bondar were one of the first Canadians to be shot into space. Although each of these Hamiltonians must be respected and honoured for their contributions made to society. There is one individual who rises above the crowd and truly displays the qualities of a true Hamiltonian , and whose influence has directly had an influence about the way I go about my life and the lives of my classmates.

Although the #1 spot does go to Mr. Hess or whoever came up with the idea of the good ole' Hess Village which has provided the stomping grounds for hundreds of young , fun-loving students every weekend to mingle and possibly bring home a member of the oppisite sex (or same depending on sexual preference). But this post isn't about SEX or HOT and INTIMATE casual encounters! We are looking for a true "stud", who has truly given something back to the community.

His name ... (drumroll please) ladies and gentlemen , our very own Michael DeGroote !! We as students at McMaster University must ponder the influence of this man's actions. Without his contributions made to this university we would never have class in the beautiful Michael Degroote School of Learning and Discovery in the very spacious lecture hall 1305. "Big Mike" as we like to call him around here, is a legend. Without him life at McMaster would not be the same as we know it.

From everyone at McMaster , "Big Mike" we salute you!
